What is Co-Active Coaching?
Co-Active Coaching is the model of coaching that I am trained in. It has and basically includes several distinct characteristics;
1. The client is naturally creative, resourceful and whole and therefore has all the answers already within them.
2. It is the role of the Co-Active Coach to help elicit those answers from the client based on the client's own agenda and not the agenda of the coach.
3. The relationship between client and coach is one that they design together. This relationship is steeped in mutual respect and accountability; along with other factors that we mutually agree upon to make coaching a unique relationship in your life.

It would be impossible to give a set answer on this extremely common question. Everyone moves along the coaching process at their own pace. What’s the difference between coaching and therapy? Good question! Traditional therapy is extremely useful for some individuals; however, coaching can and often does work beautifully in tandem with therapy or as an alternative to therapy. Therapy tends to deal with a client’s or patient’s past in great depth and this is not the case in coaching. Coaching begins with this moment of your life and looks forward. Naturally, there are moments when a client wants to make certain connections for themselves about their past experiences; but the coaching process helps the client quickly return to the present moment continuing forward towards action and learning. How effective is telephone coaching?
Coaching helps you edit, create and tell the story of your life...what will yours say? What are the possibilities awaiting you on that crisp blank page?
How long does it take?
Coaching is extremely effective over the phone. Having counseled many individuals and couples over the telephone for years and now coaching using the telephone, I can answer this question with certainty. It is my experience that clients tend to relax more and feel much less inhibited when they speak to their coach from the comfort of their home or office. Coaching is global and this accessibility and flexibility are key factors that enhance communication over the phone. Skilled listening is a vital part of the coaching relationship and I strongly believe that whatever is present in someone’s body language is also present in their voice.
